Hope &#8211; meant as an activating force, not wishful thinking.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The term Hopepunk was originally coined by fantasy and science fiction author Alexandra Rowland, who in 2017 wrote a tumblr post simply stating, &#8218;hopepunk is the opposite of grimdark. Pass it on.&#8216; Grimdark is a particularly dystopian subgenre of science fiction. HOPEPUNK doesn\u2019t negate that dystopia exists. But it says: in the face of it, choosing kindness becomes a radical act.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It is my intention with this podcast to shine a light on the people, projects and places that embody hope-inspired action. What is the meaning of hope for us personally, &#8211; in the face of illness or loss, for instance? And given the current state of the world, how does hope &#8211; or the lack thereof &#8211; shape our politics and society today?<br>Each episode will feature an issue, or a guest.
